Paper/Sticker/Die Cut Trade

Do you have papers, stickers or die cuts that you don’t think you will use? Time will be set aside on Saturday for a paper/sticker/die-cut trade.

The paper trade is for full sheet (8 ½ x 11 and 12 x 12) acid free papers only. For each sheet you enter in the trade, you can take a same sized sheet in return.

The stickers can be full or partial sheets. For each sticker sheet or die cut you enter in the trade, you can take an item of equal value.

All items remaining after the trade will go in the traveling swap box that goes to future retreats and scrap-a-thons.

Rummage Sale

For a set period of time we will have an area where you can display the products you want to sell. Have everything clearly marked. Package items in baggies, or protective sleeves for paper, etc and mark it with your first and last name and price. Please group things together so we are not dealing with items under $1.00. Each attendee will have a sheet in their packet at the crop where you can log your purchases and pay for them at the checkout areaONLY CASH IS ACCEPTED to pay for purchases from the rummage sale. We will distribute the money to the perspective participants and all items not sold will need to be picked up or donated for use at future retreats.  NOTE: We will be asking for assistance from those who are selling items in the rummage sale for a short period of time either monitoring the sale tables or helping with the checkout area.

Make ‘n Takes

At a scheduled time, make ‘n takes will be available. (All are optional) NOTE: Some vendors may have additional items for sale to coordinate with their make 'n take.

Tools Available to Use

Tools include a large straight-edge cutter, jumbo punches, Fiskars corner and border punches, Fiskars decorative scissors, crimpers, computer with printer and scanner, Sizzix/Sizzlet Die Cut Station. All shared tools need to stay at the Tools Stations.

Your Workspace

Your seating is assigned and you will have approximately 4’ of workspace with room around you for your tote bags or containers.

How do I prepare for the retreat?

In order to maximize your cropping time, we suggest having your album project goals in mind. For instance, plan and prepare the specific pages/photos you will be working on by having the photos organized and ready to scrapbook along with the supplies needed to put together these pages. At the retreat, the combined creativity of you and the other croppers near you will generate fabulous ideas for your layouts. When you are really stuck, there will be a whole room full of very qualified people to offer suggestions.

Can I sit with my friends?

Of course! Seating is assigned so don’t worry about the time you arrive. Your workspace will be waiting for you.

Is it safe to leave my supplies in the crop room overnight during the full retreat?

Your workspace is yours for the weekend. We trust all the croppers attending the retreat and we do everything in our power to make sure things are secure however Midwest Scrapbook Association cannot be held responsible for your belongings.

What should I bring?

  • Bring a paper grocery bag to set next to your chair for a garbage bag.
  • Bring as much of your own cropping supplies and equipment as you can comfortably carry. For a more enjoyable experience, don’t over load.
  • Comfy clothes. Bring along a sweater or sweatshirt (layered is best because of fluctuating temperatures in the cropping room). Don’t forget your PJs and comfy slippers.
  • Ear Plugs (important if you are bothered by snorers – LOL)

  • Linens - Twin-size sheet (unless notified differently), blanket(s), pillow, towel and washcloth.

  • Ziploc baggies or envelopes for all those die cuts or punchies you will make at the Work Station
  • Cash, checkbook and/or credit card – Scrapbook products will be available for purchase throughout the weekend. In addition, plan for the rummage sale purchases (only cash is accepted for rummage sale purchases).
  • Snacks and Beverage of your Choice (water, tea and coffee is available continually) Refrigerator is available for you to store your snacks and beverages.
